With this card I am playing along with the Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

When I was thinking blue, it made me think of this old china plate I had, and with that I thought the Waltzingmouse 'Afternoon Tea Sentiments' set was a perfect match!

Really love this sentiment!!

Wouldn't a tea party with lots of chat and dressing up with your girlfriends pull you out of your winter blues?

My Big Shot stopped working {so to speak}...

don't fret I bought a new one that hopefully will arrive tomorrow!!

Good News...

My Wplus9 stamps and dies arrived today!!!

I was so lucky this month and won the full release...

what a generous prize.. yahoo... so fun and folksy this release is...

Also, my postwoman brought the new issue of Papercrafts so I get to have a looksy at that too today!!

Happy Easter....

Hi all!!

I am still in Easter/Spring mode here so made another card with WMS 'Spring Baskets' set embossing the larger eggs in white this time. I used the new sketch up at the WMS Sketch Challenge Blog and some really old Basic Grey papers that I think I bought on Ebay about 3 years ago for scrapbooking before I was even making cards! Such pretty colours!

WMS Blog Party: Spring!!

I was in spring mode last night and had loads of fun with the Waltzingmouse Stamp sets 'Spring Baskets', 'Pic-nic Patterns', and 'Rescue Remedies Additions'! I used this weeks Sketch for the layout of the first card and some of our Easter baskets I took out of storage for colour inspiration...

looking forward to the amazing inspiration from all of the other Blog Party Go-ers... I will be Pinning away later I am sure!!

Embossing the eggs in white worked out really well for colouring with the Copics!

from a short trip to Kilkenny with the kids, it's their midterm break so we spent a few nights at Lyrath Esate!!

The first pic is a quick set of Thank-you cards I made with the WMS 'Join Us' set. I have a good few card orders at the moment but I just wanted to sit down at my craft table and make something so this is what happened!

I had recieved two boxes of goodies from Northridge Publishing for some of the cards I had published in Dec. in CARDS Magazine and Create:Christmas Cards!!!! So fun!!

Papertrey Day 7...

A quick share for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Challenge Day 7 where we were asked to use hearts in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday and Melissa Bickford's new Heart-2-Heart stamp series!!

I used Papertrey's 'Everyday Button Bits' set for the hot air ballon baskets and diecut hearts for the ballons in a rainbow of colours so I could play along with the challenge at Jay Gee's Nook!

she is the reason I stumbled upon PTI in the first place through her blog, I could look at her blog and projects for hours... it really is amazing how she has a little of this and a little of that and it just seems to work!! One of her favourites, the friendship jar, was my first PTI purchase!!

She also has to be blamed {lol} for my new Project Life addiction!!

So here I tried to combine some of the things I often see in her projects..

doilies, friendship jar, buttons, take note set, fun mix of papers, scalloped edge.. the list goes on...

I made this card for a birthday party

we are heading to on Friday! My girls call these Canada butterflies because they saw butterflies coloured this way on their last trip to Canada... we are heading there again this summer to see my parents!! Looking forward to it!

There is also a fab inspiration challenge over at Barb's blog
{another Canadian girl... I lived in NS for a summer before I came to Ireland and loved it!}

I took inspiraton from 'Mother Nature's Bling' with the dark background and pop of yellow and orange in the lily!!

WMS Sketch Challenge 80

I was very last minute yesterday making something for the WMS Blog Party so today thought I would play along with the sketch challenge before time was too short for that as well!

Quite a simple take on the sketch...

I did have one made with patterned paper background but it just didn't look right so this my final result
{even though I am still not sure about it}

I used the 'Irish Blessings' set for all the stamping on my card and used Fancy Labels 2 embossed to frame my sentiment.

Project Life: Week One...

I have gotten a start at Project Life and thought I would share...

I can't wait to have a good few pages behind me and look forward to flipping through it at the end of the year!! I can already see how it is coming together with only a week and a half done!

I started with an envelope page to put important bits that don't fit the pages...

this is a Dec. one. I never bought the binder since it would cost a fortune for my Mom to ship so I will wait till I am home in the summer maybe...

this is the kit I bought and then I got the variety pack of pages... kinda wish I just got size A though since some of these will be harder to use. Live and learn...

Cool Tools Week: The Cutting & Trimming Challenge

Morning all...

just a quick post with a card for the Moxie Fab World's Cool Tools Week: Cutting and Trimming Challenge.

I went to town with my MS fringe scissors {another tool that doesn't see the light of day enough} and made some light blue confetti and glued it to a piece of white cardstock to create a sky background. There were gaps of white after doing this, so I got the bright idea of filling them in with blue glitter. Not sure I like it better with the glitter, but these things can't be undone... lol!

Cool Tools Week: The Punches Challenge

When I saw the challenge this am over at Moxie Fab World I had a look at all my punches....

I realized I have a lot of punches that don't get any love from me at all!!

Some of the main ones I ignore are my square punches...

it just happens that a good friend of mine asked me to make a card for a 40th Birthday party she is going to this weekend with an 80's theme...

Hi all,

the girls are gone off to school now, so I am taking my first free moment to post this card I made last week for Moxie Fab World: The Map to Your Heart Challenge!

The paper I choose actually has a map of the area where I grew up and where my parents are still living so I thought it would be cool to paper piece the area and make a nice card for my Mom!! I used the compass part of the map for the center of the flower and have Lake Superior and the letters CAN visible! I am using one of my new sets that Kieran and the kiddos gave me for Christmas... I really dig this flower!

As the New Year approaches and I spent the best part of my morning Pinning inspiration and enjoying everyone elses thoughts on 2011 and resolutions for 2012, I thought I might share some of my own....

I am thankful...
for my family's good health, our good friends and our fabulous family!!

I am sad...

that I have closed down my shop and say goodbye to my two challenge blogs... I had lovely design team members but still have good friends.

I am happy...

that I can craft on less of a schedule!!

I am over the moon excited...

to start Project Life and spend time journalling about the family going-ons. I went to bed with the stuff my mom sent to start this (sad.. he he). Michelle from Mish Mash has some brilliant inspiration and tutorials for this... I adore everthing she makes!!

I look forward to...

getting my computer hard drive back and the Wireless Internet box {for lack of more technical word} that is hopefully in the post!!

I was nearly tearful with excitement...

when I opened my new iPad that Hubby surprised me with for Christmas... a few days late... but that made the suprise even better!! Seriously... can't believe it still!!

I want to...

send out more cards that I make instead of hoarding them! Or just trying to sell them in the shop!

Spend more time doing crafty things with the girls... they enjoy it as much as I do... {need help in the patience dept. when they are dirtying my craft space... lol!}

Stop buying so much and start using what I have!! So tough....

but the spending really has to end!! he he...

Spend more time making dinner... sounds silly, but I love cooking and find I am rushing in between looking at the internet and burning things instead of enjoying it like I used to!

Get out to the park more with the kids! What joy you see on their faces when they are going down the slide or spinning like crazy.... and it's free!! Oh, and makes for great pictures!!

Spend less time online...

might be tough with the new iPad... or maybe better, since I can do it when the kids are asleep and not during the day!!

Enjoy the fresh air...

this can go hand and hand with less time on the internet and going to the park!!

Calling family and friends abroad...

I really suck at this!! I am thinking of them all the time, but never pick up the phone...

can send those cards too... lol!!

Drink more water and eat less bread..

you can do it Robin!!! It's not hard!!

No crazy diet, not rocket science, just a bit more of one and a bit less of the other....

Continue my Zumba classes...

I have so much fun dancing around and shaking my butt... lol... feel like I am back Cheerleading in High School!! {only there are more bits to wobble!!}

I hope..
2012 is as good as 2011 was to me and our family!!

Anyway...

I will leave you all and get off this computer!!

I have more thoughts... but I can keep some to myself and let you go...

Just a quick note to wish everyone a lovely holiday season!!!

My computer has crashed so probably won't be back in blogging action till the new year!

{not to mention the chicken pox and ear aches the kids have been experiencing... sigh}

Looking forward to starting project life, my young lad starting a couple days in daycare, some new stamp sets under the tree, and having a chance to enter some challenges again in the New Year!!!

Waltzingmouse Tag..

I haven't been feeling great lately, again... I have diverticulitis back a month after the last time!

I couldn't pass up this challenge though, a Christmas Tag Challenge over at Waltzingmouse Makes!!

Lots of inspiration over there from the entrants and, as always, Claire wows us!!

I used the Nested Lacey Pennant dies {that Jenny surprised me with for my birthday!} and the Waltzingmouse 'Compliments of the Season' and 'Sewing Box Christmas' sets! Some pretty pink twine and ribbon, along with a sweet little pearl and diamond dust for sparkle... which unfortunately doesn't show up great at 8am in Ireland when you are taking a pic!

Have my only craft fair on Thurs. night so want to get sorted... hope to share some pics with you over the weekend. I am hoping these two antibiotics will have done their jobs by then!!

This first card I made for the current Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge with the lovely Nutcracker Sweet set!! Tried to keep it more masculine... just had to sneak in one tiny bow!

Today I am playing along with the

Championing Award Medallions Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!

I have been wanting to make a card for Christmas that resembles a door of some sort, so when the idea of making an accordian wreath came to mind I thought it was the perfect time for my door...

Instead of using the two scored pieces for my accordian flower as I usually would, I have scored a third 1" piece so I could have an open center for my sentiment.

I die cut a circle and stamped the sentiment and then attached the medallion wreath to that before adhering to my card.

Part Deux!

I also made this yesterday morning for the Moxie Fab World: Textured to Perfection Challenge!

The first thing I thought of when the challenge was announced was this green mesh foil ribbon I had bought in Canada at the Fabric Store... I also bought the gold beads and ric rac ribbon there too.

For a bit more texture I embossed the funky Paper Smooches sentiment in 'tinsel silver'.

Thought this could make for a fun and girly Christmas thank-you card...

It's very wet here at the moment, so this was the best pic I could grab! You will have to click for closer pic..

Textured to Perfection...

My Pretties! He he he he he!

I spent Halloween morning in a real textural mood, I had all these bits layed out on top of a card but then changed my mind... I decided to add them to a mini album cover instead! I just adored the flower and feathers too much and had to keep it all to myself!! {greedy, I know!}

For the texture I embossed the black magic cardstock with this swirl pattern and sanded it down a bit to reveal the cool purple colour, add some green crackle paint to the edges of the chipboard with a sprikle of glitter added before it fully dried! I distressed the edges of the 'Oz' paper and added some pearls, this super fun flower with feathers, lace and crinolin to give it some more demension!! Now I can't wait to get going on the rest of the album... perfect for those Halloween pics!!

I made this card below for my two favourite challenges, Moxie Fab World's Trigger Tuesday and Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

From the 'autumn woods' trigger I picked up the colourful wood squares with the fun woodgrain patterns, stacked them like a Christmas tree and distressed the edges to give it a look of unfinished wood edge. {careful you don't get a splinter!}

Paper Smooches picture also had the wood-y look {for lack of better words} with that wonderful big tree and I picked up the fabulous bright orange from the VW with the distressed edges and center tree blocks!!

When it rains....

We were hit with a month's worth of rain in 6 hours yesterday!!!

We were lucky, we don't live right it Dublin where I believe it was at it's worst!

The Shopping Center was completely flooded, rivers burst their banks, and major roads were closed!

Scary!!

I know, I know.... the sketch cries out Halloween.... but I have enough Halloween cards at this point to last me a decade!! So I went Christmas-y again and made a fun tree with the Waltzingmouse 'Bitty Banners'!

I had them out making a birthday card yesterday so they were staring at me when I was sitting down to look at the sketch! Definitely going to have to make more trees with this set using the different patterns and colours for more festive fun!! Think I will do a pink one next... lol! The sentiment is from the 'Basket Additions' set that we got as a gift at the class I posted about a couple of weeks ago!

Had to use them ASAP!! So this card I made was inspired by the new Challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks and the new Inspiration pic over at My Partner in Crafting Crime!

I thought I would share one of the pics I took over the weekend cause it makes me laugh!! Every year I try and get a pic of the little ones for the Christmas card... this shows just how impressed my little guy is!!!

I did get a few better ones that hopefully can be used for the card, but this is one of my faves!!!

is just around the corner, so Paige over at Create:Blog has set the challenge this week for Halloween cards!! I went for a ditressed 31st card that I think I might send to my Mom!

Halloween, sadly, isn't as big here as it is at home in Canada... but I have to say, it is slowly growing more popular!! I have my friends doing another murder mystery party this year! Last year the theme was 70's and this year we are moving into the 80's!! I am Cyndi Lauper... should be good for a laugh!!!

it's back to normal here after a super fun Sat. night and Sunday at The Great Big Craft Extravaganza in Athlone, Ireland! The two girls have gone off to school and the little guy is watching his 'Race Cars' on tele so I am stealing a minute to share......

I did some stitching, doily lace border, picked up most of the colours, and thought the roof tops were like the points of the banners.

This little onesie from Tricia's Etsy Shop inspired me to use some paper ruffles, a sweet little tag with twine held on by a mini clothes peg, and the super fun colours hot pink, kelly green, mint and kraft!!

Instead of a baby card, I went with a romantic Christmas card with the fun 'Swanky Snowdudes' set!

Amber's Papercrafts Reject Blog Hop {again... he he}!

This was a card I made for the recent Papercrafts call for submission in the 'masking' section, it took a lot of time fussy cutting the masks and getting these little critters in place so had to share! I also had a couple rejected for the 'colour spectrum' section, but I will save those for another day!!

I just finished reading another post that Amber had posted on her blog this week and it really helped to put everything in perspective for me, also helps dealing with this 'rejection' a little bit easier!!

You should definitely pop over there and read the post... and even if you can't relate, she has an awsome card made out of micro beads that you have to see!!

Bought a fab black dress yesterday!! Fits great... check it out HERE... no Papertrey order for me this month but hey.... I think I have enough craft supplies to get by... lol!!

This card I made for the current inapiration challenge...

I picked up the colours, braided some white cotton for the kites tail, and used a white textured background.

Thought this could make a fun baby card for someone....

After a much needed summer break,

My Partner in Crafting Crime is back with challenges once again!

This fortnight's challenge is 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' or to make it even easier... any form of transport!

I went with one of our sponsors Bows and Berries 'Rainbow Camper Van' and made a fun, masculine birthday card.

A quick post to share a card I made for The Next Challenge in the Moxie Fab World: Card Play!

This fun set by Wplus9 arrived today and this idea came to mind... I am not a poker player but somehow the saying 'Pocket Aces' was in my mind.

'Congrats' seemed to be a fitting sentiment since I imagine 3 Aces in any hand of cards is pretty rare?!

You gotta love Paper Smooches stamps for their punniness qualities...

This first one might not be as funny for everyone as it would be here in Ireland where a 'lift' is a 'ride'...

ie./ You would say 'Can you give me a lift to the school?' NOT 'Can you give me a ride to the school?'

A 'ride' in Ireland is something quite naughty! I'll let you google it!

So Santa is thanking Rudoulf for the lift here...

Then I have the snowmen rolling their own snowballs in this one... I am hoping this one is a bit more self explanitory? Hoping....

Anyway...

I am laughing at myself now, maybe these aren't as funny for everyone as they were for me!!

A bit behind!!

With the excitement of back to school and birthdays at our house last week I forgot to post about a couple things here!

First is this card I made for Papercrafts Color Inspiration Challenge #8 with blue, green, black and white...

Create: Blog's Challenge this week is to use woodgrain in your cards... so I got out my woodgrain background stamp and did some paper piecing with some woodgrain paper as well!

The woodgrain also reminded me of Paper Smooches inspiration picture for the current Sparks Challenge so I thought I would have one last go...

I masked, stamped, coloured and paper pieced the images to make it look like they were best buds...

There is still a little bit of time for both these challenges if you would like to play along!!
