Tuesday Trigger: Merci Card

This weeks Trigger from the Moxie Fab World is straight from the pages of Stamp It! Cards!!

I absolutely love the scene she has created... reminds me of my Nana's old kitchen!

And Trigger it did... it brought back a lot of old memories that I have of us together...

I made a Thank-you card as well and picked up black, white and aqua colours. I die cut some doilies and used one of the pretty hand died ones I got in Frog Feather's Etsy Shop a while back, {It's so hard to use them} since it was quite like one my Nana would have on the table in the kitchen under a vase of flowers!

My Nana made it over to my Wedding in Ireland all the way from Canada in her late 80's.. she had an absolutely brilliant time and I was so glad she made it for our special day! She always wanted to come to Ireland and wasn't going to miss it for the world! She is no longer with us, but I have so many great memories of us together!!

A note....

I stole a few minutes again before giving the crew their baths to make another card for  Gallery Idol 2011 and Papercraft's Color Inspiration Challenge #6!! For both of these challenges you have until July 4th to play along....

Congrats!

The weather has cleared up a bit here!!! Spent most of the day yesterday cleaning up the garden with the little ones...

but of course still had to squeeze in a card before bed!

I kept with the rainbow colours since they are so much fun.... 

I wanted to make something for Moxie Fab World's Stamp It Cards Week Challenge {Really hope that postal strike in Canada is over so my Mom can send me the Mag to Ireland!}

 

Also thought I might have another go at Papercrafts Gallery Idol and  Embellish Color Challenge-Rainbows.

Really simple card but I think the rainbow colours keep it fun.....

Gallery Idol....

This is my second entry into Papercraft's Gallery Idol 2011...
I am laughing at myself since I just realised my first entry had a pinwheel on it as well! Obsessed much?
I went with rainbow colours since it seems to be all the rage this time of year... I keep seeing it pop up in inspiration pictures and challenges.... 
Speaking of... I  had this color palette in my mind from Embellish Color Trends-Rainbow Challenge and would like to enter this card into their challenge!

Beautiful Borders..

The Boy is Mine...

Just a quick post to prove {to myself mostly} that my New Year's Resolution hasn't fallen by the way side!

It happens in bouts, where I take a rest from making cards and work on some scrapping...

this is one of a few pages I did yesterday. Nothing too exciting, but I love this pic of my little guy...

A Mini Pressie....

End of the school year next week and I wanted to make something nice for Clodagh's first 'big school' teacher since she appreciated the handmade Christmas pressie we made for her! She is due her second baby soon so I thought it would be nice to make a memory album for her to put her own pics in once baby arrives... I am not sure if she is having a girl or boy so tried my best to make it gender neutral!


Papers are all from Basic Grey's 'hopscotch' pad and most of the stamps/dies are PTI unless noted under the pic...

This page with the buttons is similar to another album I did in a class that you can see here!

I did this page with my new Rainbows and Clouds set from Lil' Inker!! Hope to do a card quite similar to this..... the rainbow looks cool in the BG Hopscotch colours!

this is where I will add a note of thanks inside and my daughter Clodagh can colour on the kraft around the envelope...

Sew, what's up?

A quick entry for the Moxie Fab World 'I'm Sew Excited!' challenge....

I was kinda dying to add one of those punny sentiments on the card, but thought I would let the bold colours, pins, and dress form do the talking instead!!

With only a few minutes to spare....

I have  a light bulb moment!

One of my good friends daughters was turning five and I promised to bring the fairy cakes for the kiddos...

But since my new Lil' Inker Rainbow and Clouds set had just arrived and I was dying to use it I thought {with only an hour left before the party} that I would make some cute little rainbows and pinwheels for them! So here are some pics as I am making them to show you just how easy and fun these are...

My eldest daughter is 6 soon and I hope to make some ever cuter ones since I plan to have more time then an hour!

 

My friend had a great stand and they looked even better on that... but I didn't have my camera so...

They were a hit with the kids and the moms called me all sorts of mean names thinking I was trying to show them up so I will take that as a compliment as well... lol!

Color Cue blocking......

It's pouring rain here today....  so I thought I would make use of the time and play along with two of my favourite challenges!! 


Over at CAS-ual Fridays today they are starting a new challenge 'color block' and I have to say it is real fun one! The DT have put together some real striking and different cards for eye candy!!


So then I had to combine that challenge with the fabulous colors Dawn gave us for Color Cue {16}... they just scream summer fun and thought they would look cool in color blocking.... I overlapped them a bit, punched and embossed to give some more dimension to the card.

Rainbow Bright...

Tuesday Trigger time over at Moxie Fab World...

this weeks picture 'Rainbow Bright' had me using the bright colours in the thread and the woodgrain background to represent the wooden spools.

Then I came across CREATE's challenge, paper weaving, and thought it might be fun to weave with Papertrey's double ended banners......

Yesterday I hit my local craft shop and treated myself to one of the BG collecitons 'life of the party'... when I saw the dp I used below it immediately made me think of the postal set by PTI so I sat down and had some fun..... I just happened to have red thread in the old sewing maching {to lazy to change to white, which might have looked cool?} so I did a little stitching practice.....

Gotta run, hubby's birthday and have to meet him for lunch!!

Playing catch up!

You go away for a week or so and come back feeling like you have missed out on so much in blogland....

I am trying to look through all the fun challenges, posts, and inspiration I missed as well as get a few masculine cards made for Father's day!!

As promised, another card with the super cool pinwheel die by Lil' Inker and the fun sentiments that go along with this die are perfect!!

For this one I inked up some of the new Papertrey that was waiting for me when we returned!

Back to reality!

Well it's back to reality now... holiday is over!
Had super fun time camping in Italy with friends and their families despite some bad weather at the end!
We are back home to rain here in Ireland.... what's new!
