Happy Birthday Cáelán!!!!

My baby boy is two today...
soon the word baby won't be relevant!
Time goes by so fast, doesn't it?

Here he is playing in the only puddle of water he could find in the back garden the other day... of course he would scout it out! That's boys for you....
They certainly are very different from girls..  at least my two girls anyway!

And for cute little boy images I couldn't think of any more fitting then Some Odd Girl's 'Tiny Tobie'!
I haven't played along with the Odd Girls {I miss that super fun team!} in too long so had to get in on the pleating fun...
and crazy but true I took out the sewing machine for the edge and pleat! Took ages and there are some good old mistakes there but me and the sewing machine survived the experience with no injuries or tears!!
I even had a second go doing another card {will post tomorrow} and it turned out great! yay!

Make it Monday's Ink Blending!

Well,
who da thought? You can use regular ink to do edges and backgrounds as well as the distress inks!

Not me...
I thought this job was exclusive to distress inks...
Jenni and Tim area ONLY!

But with great style Betsy Veldeman proves me wrong!
And I am glad she did!

I wouldn't have got this super fun combo of inks together in a million years
only I had watched this weeks Make it Monday where
Betsy showed us all sorts of ink blending techniqes!!

So here is my version...
gave my little letter a fun background to match the papers and die cuts!

I also got to use some of my new Papertrey Ink and Scrapbookstore.ie bits that came yesterday...
let's call it a Mother's Day gift I sorted for myself.. he he!

Anyway..
if you haven't already.. check out this weeks Make it Monday video HERE!

Send in the Clowns!

When I saw the call over at Papercrafts Mag for Circus themed projects I was super excited...
I knew the new digis in the shop were perfect for it!!
Although they weren't picked up I still had to join in the fun that is....
"The Rejection Blog Hop!!"
So if you want to join this carnival check out the 'Damask Love' Blog where Amber knows how to make rejection look good!!!
All the entries are fab and it's sad that the magazine wasn't bigger so they could all fit! I would look through another 100 pages.. wouldn't you?

So here are my first attempts at submitting to a magazine...
better luck next time, huh?

Tuesday Trigger with Moxie Fab World....

I wouldn't mind sitting down at this table with it's lovely fresh linen napkins....
I am trying to imagine what would be served!

I took ribbon accents of teal and brown, the gorgeous buttons, and the dotted line accent on the  ivory napkins as inspiration and went with a non-traditional wedding card....

and see how it inspires you....

Some new obsessions...

to add to my list!! I kept seeing these little flowers, doilies and ribbon everywhere... so I had to add them to my stash!!
So here they are.... on the last 3 cards I made!!!
I haven't mastered the shabby chic/vintage look yet but I like playing around with it so... here is my version, I guess... lol!

I made this card for the 2 Sisters challenge blog with 'Oh, baby'  and Digital Tuesday's 'Welcome little one' as the theme... love those Basic Grey 'Hopscotch' papers for little girl cards!

And this one was made with Mother's Day in mind so I would like to enter it into the following challenges:

And the third... just for the craic!! I really wanted to use the 'retro phone' digi!!!!

and the paper roses are a new fave of mine!

Anyways here's my card...
{of course when I had the picture beside these papers the colours looked the same.. even hubby agreed.. but after the pic not so much... humph...}

A mini....

for my mini little niece {who is also my God Daughter}

This was a very last minute gift decision, but I am still happy with how it turned out with the time I had!
I had a cute pair of shoes for her already but wanted to add to it and didn't see anything in the toy store that suited...
last year I decorated a cork board for her with pics and chipboard and her mom really appreciated it since she wouldn't be the type to take a lot of photos.
So this idea popped into my head the night before the party... I didn't even have photos till about an hour before we had to leave... panic time for me!!

{some of the pics aren't great since I was in a hurry out the door}

I would like to enter the mini cover into the following Challenges:
Stampin' for the Weekend-Spring
PaperPlay Challenges-Shabby Chic/Vintage

(All the papers used are Pink Petticoat 'Vintage Rose Collection'
Dies and sentiments by PTI stamped with Memento 'Lady Bug' ink
Flowers, ribbons and lace, doily, diamond dust, and button from stash)

So realizing how easy and fun it is to make mini albums, I think this will be the cure to my scrap booking {or lack there of}! Once {if ever} I finish my little lads first year book, I think it will be all minis from then on!!
