Vintage Summer....

I have this picture hanging in my hall... it's my Great Grandma on my Dad's side holding her trophy for her fabulous garden that she worked so hard on.
The original on my wall is a lot bigger and has all the newspaper clippings around it... really adore this picture and thought it screamed vintage...
And since that is the theme over at My Partner in Crafting Crime this fortnight I couldn't resist showcasing one of my favourite pics and giving vintage stlye a try....

I used Thank-you as the sentiment because I feel I can really only give this to my parents so it would be a Thank-you ready and waiting (since they are always deserving them!!)

On Your First Day...

School is quickly approaching here...... my eldest will be heading for her first year so it will be a big event for us!!! Have to get organized soon... shoes, backpack, lunch bags, uniform, being somewhere on time (lol).... all those things will be new to our family!!! I think I will be more nervous than her!
It was Clodagh that inspired this card, and she even helped.... she said "Mom, you know what would look even nicer... if you put a button on the bow".... then proceeded to pick them and put one on top of the other.... so I have her to thank for that!!

A Thousand Sheets of Paper......

One of my fave blogs to look to for inspiration and also for great copic colouring tips is Amy's blog 'A Thousand Sheets of Paper'...
well, she has done it...
she has reached, and literally cut into, 1000 sheets of wonderful, cool, crisp sheets of paper!!
As well as it just being her 1st Blogiversary in July!
Crazy, huh?
Why didn't we count?
Wouldn't it be neat to know how far you are on the paper cutting front!
Anyway,
you should pop over to Amy's blog and get some inspiration yourself...
you might just be one of her lucky blog candy winners
just by celebrating along with her!

Wishing you all the best Amy!

I just adore this picture of my eldest girl Clodagh... she had just got her new bike and her eyes just sparkled. I didn't think the layout needed a whole lot so I just added some doodles on a piece of kraft paper and added a few embellies....
