Shimmer me timbers......

Last day for the Some Odd Girl challenge and I just made it in time...... they were looking for some sparkle for this challenge and although there are so many amazing new images to choose from I think MerMae just lends herself to sparkle and shimmer!! My camera flash captured every sparkle that hit the image I think!
I used a whole slew of different things to make Mae shimmer... glitter, chalks, jelly roller pens, small beads and jems, and some mosaic tiles! I used mainly my ProMarkers to colour her and a few of my new copics (yay!) where I could. I even managed to use my new fringe scissors I got on holidays!!

Looking at it now that it is posted......... hope everyone knows that it says "hello" and not just the first four letters...... lol!

I'm ba-ack.........

Just thought I would let you all know in blogland that I am back from Canada after a fantastic visit with all my Canadian friends and family.... had such a great time and weather was good too!
Did some purchasing while away and not sure where to start.... want to try everything!!!
Also to make things tougher I had two packages waiting for me when I got home from my affair with Mr. Random generator... One I have from the elements prize over at Design Dollies packed with lots of fun stuff and the other was one of the new releases by Amy Young (Pearl Tidepool) and a fab package of goodies that go with her from A Thousand Sheets of Paper!!!!! Amy also included the card in the package and the colouring is just so fab!!! I bought a few (like only 8) copics when I was away because I have been dying to try them.... but you know how hard it is..... i need more colours!!!!!! Speaking of copics I found a great little scrapbooking shop in Thunder Bay called DATS Scrapbooking and the owner Donna was so nice..... she even gave me a tour of her scrap room and I have to say I was drooling... Hubby was with me and probably thought we were mad but it was nice to talk crafting when away from all my stash (and blogger) for so long.
Anyway, better go..... have to get something done..... have mountains of laundry and a 5th Birthday to plan!!! Off to Dublin to get (the now famous in our house after a relative gave my girls one they were hooked) Zhu Zhu pets!!!
Pics of holiday and hopefully some cards or layouts soon....... there is a DT call over at my fave digi stamp blog that I have to get something done for too..... wish me luck!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream...

FOR ICE CREAM!!!(Although the weather wouldn't lend itself to ice cream eating at the minute... I think all that talking about the nice weather we were having has jinxed us)
Well, the theme over at Pile it On this week is quirky so I think this should fit right in.... I mean an ice cream cone with eyes kinda does that on its own, don't ya think? Their sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps who have a lot of quirky digis, as well, and I am a fan. I took two pics this time because I wanted to show that the tag was 3D but then that didn't capture the sparkle like the second one did......

Daddy Daycare...

This is a pic I took way back in Jan 2009 (not so long ago really.. he he) on Ali's first day at Daddy Daycare... Clodagh (the one in the front of pic) had been going there for a year at that stage and so it is hard to believe that she is finishing up there soon and heading to "Big School" as she calls it. They start in what is called Junior Infants here when the are five... where does the time go? Daddy Daycare is run by a lad called Peter (yes, a man) and he is so brilliant with all the little ones... they go on beach adventures, build and paint their own forts, plant and mind their own veggies, bake scones, they even have a little froggie spawn outside they are feeding and the list goes on...... such a great place!! His daughter works there as well as students from time to time. I know Clodagh will really miss it there.... I would! So this picture was my photo inspiration for the card... the two little greeting farm girls even kinda look like them....

I drew the little pennant or flag myself (this is a big accomplishment as I am not the World's best artist!)
