That year flew by!!

Friends of mine are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary very soon so i had a few cards to make for their special occasion.... BUT I really wanted to try a few challenges this week as well so when a friend, Jenny, sent me an email with a sketch I couldn't resist....

But even more importantly I had to share a  pic of my little guy.... he is one tomorrow.... time flies when you are having fun they say........ Happy Birthday Cáelán!!!!!

The papers I used are from Pink Petticoat, the image stamp and sentiments are from Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured in the digi with chalks, the kids markers (lol) and also some paper piecing for pillow and duvet. Other than that just a  few card candy  and some faux stitching.

So these are the challenges I tried:
1.The sketch is from tuesday morning sketches and I also used a cool digi stamp from their sponsor this week Bugaboo Stamps
2.Design Dollies-colour challenge Red, Turquoise, and white or black
3.Papertake Weekly Challenge- open, doesn't even have to be an easter card , lol!

Cheers!!!!!

Paper Piecing is a whiff of joy....

In card class yesterday we were learning paper piecing and with a little patience we made a beautiful card with this Whiff of Joy stamped image. She is so gorgeous!!  Shirley, as usual, can make things look simple but we learned folding paper is not as easy as it looks!! Lol!

Distressing in the Southeast....

Had a fun day today learning all about the Ranger/Tim Holtz products. We had a chance to play around with all the different products and I fell in love with the "peeled paint" crackle paint (the green paint on the card). On the card I used Coredinations cardstock that I ripped then used my distress tool on, Tim Holtz grunge board that I coloured with distress ink, used the thicker liquid pearls (can't think of name of those) in the turqoisey green colour, and some stamps from 7 gypsies, distressed the edges of the card with two different inks and then used the mini mister with liquid pearls and heat gun to dry. Also on the grunge board hinges I used the "rock candy" distress stickles. Whew, that was a lot of distressing....
